In 2013, efforts focussed on the outside of the museum. The Panorama Ferroviaire, located by the railway tracks and offering a fine view of the Vosges, particularly accommodates the more robust exhibits. This 16,000 square-metre area hosts events and houses equipment. Barriers and signals thus mark out the path of the Mini Express of Alsace. The Marquise de Cluny, the small station and the Invalides cabin complete the setting. Not far from the turn table and the transfer bridge, the Sambaldur du Mou roundabout takes visitors back to their childhood.
